History

The SABIS® SUN International School (SABIS® SUN) opened its doors on September 1, 2015 to students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 adding an additional grade level each year. Today, the school is open to students in Kindergarten to Grade 11. The school is located on a campus of 67,000 m² within the Dreamland development project. 

Like other schools in the SABIS® Network, SABIS® SUN is a multinational, non-selective, co-educational, independent, English medium day school serving both the local and international communities. 

English is the primary language of academic instruction in all subjects at SABIS® SUN with the exception of Azeri literature, geography, and history.

In addition to English being the first language, and Azeri as the state language, beginning in 2018-19AY, SABIS® SUN will provide continued instruction in Russian and begin administering French as a 3rd language component. 

SABIS® SUN is part of the global SABIS® Network, established in 1886 with the opening of its first school. For over 131 years, schools in the SABIS® Network have been preparing students with the knowledge and skills required to help them achieve success in a changing world.
